Barbara S. Peterson
is senior correspondent for aviation
at Conde Nast Traveler and the
author of BLUE STREAK: Inside
JetBlue, the Upstart that Rocked an
Industry, published by Penguin Portfolio (hardcover, 2004;
paperback, 2006). She is the winner of the Lowell
Thomas Award for Investigative Reporting and the
Gene DuBois Award for Excellence in Travel and
Aviation Reporting.
Peterson has worked as a magazine writer
specializing in aviation and consumer travel issues
for more than twenty years. Her articles have
appeared in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal,
New York Post, San Francisco Chronicle, and Consumer
Reports. She was the chief contributor for the book
FLY EASY, published by Fodor’s in 2002. Her previous
affiliations include Frequent Flyer, where she wrote
feature articles and edited a monthly news section,
Flyer’s File, and Diversion magazine.
Peterson is co-author, with Jim Glab, of RAPID
DESCENT: Deregulation and the Shakeout in the
Airlines, published by Simon & Schuster in 1994. She
graduated from Vassar College, and also studied at
the Sorbonne. She lives in Hastings on Hudson, in
Westchester County, New York, with her husband and
two daughters. |
